So you want to join the Big 12?

Honestly, this would be a disaster for us.

Go on......

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

not if you also added FSU, GT, VT, Miami ....

Jan 31, 2013, 4:08 PM

whatever gets us a seat in a major conference, I don't care what it is.

ACC is in much better shape than the Big 12

Jan 31, 2013, 4:10 PM

If anyone should be worried it's the Big 12.

If that's the case

Jan 31, 2013, 5:48 PM

why even have a meeting about expansion / alliance options. The stabiilty of the Big12 is NOT cemented.

If it was, they would stay at 10 teams. Why would they want to split the money wiht more teams?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Big 12? A Major Conference? HHAHAHAHAHAHA

oh.... you were serious? =/

the Big 12.

All the ACC needs is Notre Dame to join and ACC will be set.

I agree with you. The logistics costs involved with that

Jan 31, 2013, 4:25 PM

conference would be staggering.

As much as I dislike ND, if they would add their football program the ACC would have a marketing advantage. Whether or not Swofford can leverage that is another topic altogether...

Notre Dame may not have a choice as soon as

the new playoff system starts.

I think ND will holdout until they have a NC game pass

Jan 31, 2013, 5:33 PM

them by at least once. I know the selection committee is bound by instruction to give special consideration to conference champs. The CCG will add an additional win to the conference champs' resume too.

I can see the SEC having more than one team and ND getting ignored due to lacking the extra game and a conference championship.

It just comes down to how long they can hold out.

Jan 31, 2013, 5:39 PM

More likely,

Kansas and Mizzo to Big 10

Oklahoma and Ok. St to Pac 12

Texas independent or SEC

ND to ACC

logistics different than traveling to BC/Cuse/Pitt/Miami/ND?***

Well you cannot travel to BC & Cuse in the same season

Jan 31, 2013, 5:24 PM

Cannot travel to Pitt & Miami in the same season. Rarely will you travel to Pitt & Miami anyway.

And Notre Dame is a huge matchup, so that's on the same page of an @Texas or @Oklahoma.

Pretty funny how some people think UNC would join Maryland and UVA to go to the Big 10. That is the dumbest thing I have heard in about 4-5 years.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I didn't say I wanted to "take" anybody. But, and its a big

Jan 31, 2013, 5:20 PM [ in reply to Notice he wants to take half the ACC in order to solidify ]

but ... if B1G takes UVA and UNC .. then SEC takes VT and NCST .. it would be in our best interest to go with remaining football schools to the Big 12 ... If ACC stays in tact, so be it. My preferences in order are 1. SEC 2. ACC w/ ND 3. ACC as is 4. Big 12

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The most likely scenario is

Jan 31, 2013, 5:32 PM

is Oklahoma and Kansas going to the SEC.

Texas going independent.

B1G raiding the Big East.

ACC staying intact and adding Notre Dame fulltime.

Big 12 imploding.

Remember: Nebraska, Missouri and Colorado left the Big 12.
