Realistic predictions

Sep 3, 2014, 12:13 PM

With FSU, SC, Lville UNC and GT being the harder games left. What will the Tigers record be. I think at best 10-2 and worst case 8-4.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sounds about right.

Sep 3, 2014, 12:15 PM

I say 10-3 or 9-4 including the bowl gane.

9-4 inc the bowl game sounds about right***

GT is awful. We'll handle them no problem.

Sep 3, 2014, 12:21 PM

The days of close games with them are over. I don't care if it is in ATL. We got their number. UofL concerns me. Another big, fast RB... UGH.

Sep 3, 2014, 12:24 PM

IDK GT at home kinda worries me a bit. But by the time we play them you may be right and they suck.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They don't have the talent they once did.

Sep 3, 2014, 12:30 PM

It's just not there. They've got a great all conference tackle, decent WR (that they'll never use), and a safety. That's it. No pounding ground game. We aren't gonna fall for that. Now, if they can get to the edge they may score twice. That's what jawga found. That's our weakness.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not sure if Looville concerns me or not. My take away from

Sep 3, 2014, 12:27 PM [ in reply to GT is awful. We'll handle them no problem. ]

their Miami game was that Miami was awful. UMs OL missed so many blocks I'm surprised that Johnson made it outta that game alive. They contributed a lot to their own a$$ whoopin'.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sounds like what people said three years ago

Sep 3, 2014, 12:31 PM [ in reply to GT is awful. We'll handle them no problem. ]

and we got our butts handed to us in ATL by a mediocre GT team

Sep 3, 2014, 12:36 PM

Yea that's what I'm talking about. Our record in ATL is pitiful

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We haven't beaten Tech in Atlanta since 2003....

Sep 3, 2014, 12:36 PM [ in reply to Sounds like what people said three years ago ]

in the purple jersey 39 - 3 beatdown.

That trend comes to an end in 2014.

8-4 is worst case scenario?!

Sep 3, 2014, 12:48 PM

Take off the orange shades. I saw an 8-4 team on Saturday, especially on the offensive side of the ball. A lot of questions on the OLine and at RB & WR. We punted the ball about, what, 10 times?

We're 0-1 today. FSU, UNC, at GT, Louiville, at BC, SCar all loom. Not saying were going to lose all of them, but would not be surprised to see us go 3-3 in those games, which would put us at 8-4.

IMHO, 9-3 is best case, 7-5 is worst case.

Re: 8-4 is worst case scenario?!

Sep 3, 2014, 12:51 PM

FSU and Lville could very well beat us but the rest including SC will go down.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep, I remember that game, it wasnt even on TV

Sep 5, 2014, 9:08 AM [ in reply to We haven't beaten Tech in Atlanta since 2003.... ]

I had to listen on the radio. But we either scored or punted. Our third down conversions were like 2/13. Which is strange for a team that scored 39 points. But any win in ATL is a good win.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

11-1***

Sep 3, 2014, 12:21 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

63-0 by half Saturday - since I am in section P for 1 game

Sep 3, 2014, 12:34 PM

I will have lost 17 pounds of water weight.

Therefore, we will be 1-1 and I will be slenderererer

Re: Realistic predictions

Sep 3, 2014, 12:36 PM

That sounds about right..Not saying we can't beat FSU, because I think we can and hope we do, but I feel theres' about an 80% chance we lose that game...There's also about a 75% chance we take one loss among UNC, Louisville, BC & GT.. So basically, I think it's likely we go into the SC game at 8-3. If we were to play the yard-birds this week I think we win that game by a touchdown. At this point 9-3 and a Peach Bowl bid against Florida is my prediction.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So you think CU & UF are going to equivalent of a BCS Game?

Sep 3, 2014, 12:49 PM

You realize that the Peach Bowl is no longer ACC-vs-SEC. It is part of the 6 Bowl Playoff rotation. Even in years it does not host a playoff game the teams are still assigned by the playoff committee.

A 9-3 Clemson Team is extremely unlikely.
Florida is even more unlikely.

Top bowl for the ACC outside of the Orange is the bowl in Orlando (Not the Citrus one).

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: So you think CU & UF are going to equivalent of a BCS Game?

Sep 3, 2014, 1:16 PM

Was thinking we still had the Peach...All the bowl tie-in arrangements are a bit confusing at this point.

So you think we lose two games among Louisville, UNC, NC ST, GT & BC?

As for UF...I think they're going to surprise some folks how much better they are this year than what they were last year.

Re: Realistic predictions

Sep 5, 2014, 4:15 PM

In the ACC, only FSU looms large. No other team in the entire conference has the talent to compete. 7-1 in conference, 9-2 overall heading into the rivalry game. ACC just does not have any thunder after CU and FSU, but if there was a team out there that could Spring a proverbial upset over the big two, it would be Louisville, that Petrino dude knows a thing or two about coaching in spite of his flaws.

Re: Realistic predictions

Sep 5, 2014, 5:12 PM

8-4 or 9-3

Assuming a loss in Tallahassee, we'd have to win nine straight games to go better than 9-3. That's not very likely with a team playing as many young guys as we are.

I think we get SC this year, but drop a game somewhere else, perhaps somewhere unexpected.

Gotta watch Louisville closely and be ready, they have the whiff of a spoiler about them. NC and GT are both helpless vs. Clemson this season if the D plays to expectations. GT's glory days under Johnson seem a distant memory, he got fat, lazy and dumb. No way to go through life.
