Our neighborhood is overrun with deer, but if I see a 4-point buck it is unusual. See all kinds of mamas and babies.

only a couple of small bucks have stepped into the yard before dark though.
Two babbies took a lil Sunday afternoon rest in the yard a couple weeks ago.

I often wonder what motivates people to deer hunt

they spend all that money for camo clothes, tree stands, corn bait, doe urine, etc., and get up at the crack of dawn to go sit in a tree to hope one walks by. But why go to all that trouble to hunt when deer will readily come to you?
If I cared to shoot deer, I could bag 3-4 a week and never step away from my back porch. Those suckers are everywhere. Seems like more and more every year. You don't have to do anything to attract them by the hoard. They keep my apple and pear trees pruned, anything hanging under 6' gets eaten. One ate my jalapeno pepper potted plant that I sat out in the rain Friday night and left out overnight. Not 10' from my kitchen door. Hope it got indigestion.
These avid Hunters should just simply buy a few acres out in the country and live the dream. Rub them out in the comfort of your own property; in your pajamas if you want to. I guess that takes the challenge out of it or something.
Fortunately (for the deer) I only hunt squirrels. Hate those little destructive ########.
