So what kind of "houses divided" do we have represented

May 3, 2019, 12:17 PM

here today? Do you pull for your significant other's team when it does not affect Clemson?

My wife and I are both Clemson grads...if I had married a Coot or a Dawg 23 summers ago, I might be divorced by now. Best I can do is my daughter got into Clemson, but chose Winthrop (which has proven to be a great choice for her). And Winthrop doesn't even HAVE a football team, so no conflict there (and let's not talk about baseball)!

No.

My wife is only really passionately interested in Association Football, and we support the same team. She has a passing interest in a few other sports, and the only sport in which we follow different teams is Rugby League, where I support St Helens, and she is a Wigan fan.

I would rather be hung by my testicles from the top of the Eiffel Tower, than cheer for Wigan.

On a sidenote, my son follows many sports with fervour, but fortunately we support the same teams in all of them bar the NFL, where I'm a Packer and he's a Steeler. Unless they're playing the Packers, I want his team to do well.

2 girls went to State

The engineering program was excellent. Couldnt have been happier about it. I never liked State but now they are #2 team. Wife is huge Clemson fan. Son goes to UNCC which is a non sports school but couldnt be happier for kid. Great CS program. More jobs available than students. He has options.

Wife and I are both Tigers. She nearly went to Wake so we have a soft spot for that school. Our house is united and my 3 year old son yells "Go Tigers" to our Duke neighbors. But her father is from Jawja (and despite being a "Doctor" they only let he work on animals). Her mother is a VT grad, and so are most of my Uncles/Aunts/Counsin, so beating Tech helps at both family reunions. My father actually attended some school in Tallahassee for one semester but had to much fun. Joined the army after that. He has since renounced any ties to that school and wears Orange and *might* be a bit more Tiger-obsessed now than I am.

My sister-in-law went to USC... thank goodness. Normally she defaults to "USC but not THAT USC. The one in Cali" because she now lives on the east coast...

I don’t believe in the “house divided” crap.

My house is a Clemson house. If you don’t like that, that’s totally fine! You can sit your ace outside and peck for worms like your mascot.

All in here.

Every time I see one of those stickers on a car I want to leave a note under the windshield that says, "You figure that 'stuff' out on the first date!"

That would have been a deal-breaker for me.

My wife is an Erskine grad but she is definitely “all in” right now. Now when Erskine starts playing football again next year I’m sure she will then have two favorite teams.
