So, was talking with the family last night about funerals..

Jun 28, 2018, 3:32 PM

and the discussion went to the total waste of money it is for the full blown funeral service with the headstone, burial plot, caskets and such. So, we thought being cremated might be a good alternative. Turns out it isn't inexpensive either.

But then (here's where Tiger football enters the fray), we wondered where we would have our ashes spread? And I immediately wondered if ANYONE has ever (indiscreetly of course) had a family member spread their ashes on the field at Death Valley, say after a football game while milling around with players and fans?

Just wondering :)

Go Tigers!

Yes I know of several, years ago. One couple waited until a hone game full on a good autumn day where they needed an overshirt or hoodie. They put the ashes in zip lock bags and cut one of the corners off. They had it up their sleeve with the cut end in their hand. Once they got in the field and were able to walk it they opened their hands and the ashes fell to the field. My understanding is the other couple also used zip lock bags. My understanding is this is not permitted

Slightly off topic but the year the Cubs won the world series the Cubs organization had to higher private security to keep trespassers off of the field because so many people were having their ashes dumped on the Cubs field.

I suggest that you check

All laws before you start spreading ashes. That is a big time no no in almost any public place such as a lake, stream, park etc.

I’m to be sprinkled on the PAW...”after” a huge win!

My Mother is spread in Biltmore House Rose Gardens, in Paris & in her home town in Family burial plot.

Frank Howard left his mark by spitting a chew of tobacco into each corner of DV as the concrete was poured. Years later they named the field after him. That'll be hard for anyone to top.
