Was never impressed with their steaks.

Overcooked consistently, at least in Columbia. For the price, there are much better steakhouses.

Agree. But I'm surprised they stayed opened even before

the virus. Maybe the cook in Columbia just stunk. But after two visits I was done. Outback had a better steak IMO.

Outback actually had a pretty decent $11 Wednesday deal

6 oz sirloin, baked potato and a beer for $10.99. It'd be hard for me to replicate that at home. Throw in cooking and cleanup time, and it's well worth it to outsource that endeavor.

I used to get the Rockhamptom Ribeye at Outback

Then they went to a cheaper grade cut, and I stopped. Last two times I've been they upgraded the cut of their ribeye back again to a good one. Once again better than Ruth Chris.
Still haven't been to Halls in Columbia, but I want to give it a swing sometime.

been.
It's about how you'd expect:
Steak was really really good, but it was crazy expensive.
Like a deep feeling of remorse expensive....
I'll wait until somebody wants to take me there for work or something, Texas Road house is good enough for this guy.

The one in Greenville is good

But chophouse has the best cuts in town IMO. The dry aged tomahawk at halls tore my stomach up and it wasn’t that good. I haven’t tried a normal cut from there. The Sunday gospel brunch is great at the Charleston Hall’s.

and there are definitely better steak houses almost everywhere. That said, had a venison chop in Atlanta before a Peach Bowl one time that was mind-blowingly spectacular.

I have eaten at one of them for an event I attended, so can't really give a good rating, but the one in Atl I ate at about 30 years ago was good.

Wade Hampton, the Open Hearth - it was good, but that was a long time ago also.
These days it is either Rick Erwins or Hall's if I want to spend that type of money - but when we eat out it is rarely (haha) for steaks.
