I think you will need at least half the season to be played before they could justify individual awards. I think they should play for, or at least vote for a national champion no matter how many games are played (pretty confident most schools get in at least six games and probably more).

I think you would need at least 8 games to make a regular season.
You would need at least two full conferences,otherwise no go.
