So for tonight's game in Greensboro I have a travel kit

Mar 13, 2014, 10:57 AM

Two flashlights for use when the lights go out in the circa 1903 arena, a bic lighter, 2 candles, infrared googles for night vision to find the men's room and most importantly--

A glow in the dark Clemson shirt so my son can find me when the game ends at the 39:59.99 second mark and the horn sounds at one end of the building but maybe not at the other end and the mayhem begins with is the game over or not!

Go Tigers! Shake up the world!

Take a gas mask to wear. Swoff may be there and there is the normal fetid ACC ref stench too though I suspect that will be stronger if we get to play Friday.

Do you have strobe lights down there to do game-time introductions like they do in the pros?

I bet you don't even kill roaches; you tag them & do the strobe like thingy every time they come back in the room.

The Greensboro Coliseum opened in 1959

Mar 13, 2014, 11:35 AM

Since then, it has hosted the ACC Tournament 24 times.

One of the renovation projects was a complete debacle which resulted in the termination of the colsieum manager and the General Contractor.

Apparently, they still haven't figured out how to fix the electrical problems.

Re: The Greensboro Coliseum opened in 1959

Mar 13, 2014, 12:03 PM

The electrical problems last night was the result of a thunderstorm that came thru yesterday afternoon. The problems last week were the result of an ice storm in which some people still don't have their power back.

Dumbest Post I have read in awhile

Mar 13, 2014, 2:13 PM

When was the last time you were at the Greensboro Coliseum? They just completed another renovation and it is in great shape. For better or worse, Greensboro is the home of the ACC. This is where it was founded. This is where it was still headquartered. The ACC is the perfect locale for the tournament. Makes much more sense then DC (where is the closest school to DC once Maryland is gone) or NYC (imagine what it will cost to go there).

With respect to the power problems, if you were here and saw the winds last night on the heels of the ice storm last week, you would know its something that there is power at all. Having grown up in Greenville, I can tell you Greenville wouldn't have been able to put this on like Greensboro has.

As a Tiger living in Carolina territory (and there are plenty of us who happily live in Greensboro), I hate it when I hear all of the stupid conspiracy theories about Swofford and the ACC and the like. It makes us look like stupid fans. The ACC is not holding us down in any way shape or form.

But yes, I have been to Greensboro. That is why I dont live there. I have been there.
