So an ACC team with a loss can still make the playoff. And

Dec 5, 2016, 7:05 PM

now that that's settled, the coots and every SEC recruiter going against FSU and Clemson can look for something else to use. The old "Clemson and Florida State will have to go unbeaten to even sniff the playoff" was inaccurate. I guess something good came out of the Pitt loss. Every cloud has silver lining.

Not only make the playoffs, but get the highest seed of those teams with one loss. You are right, the SEC myth is over.

SEC is now "Bama and the 13 Dwarfs."

and a loss so late too. Who would have thought it. Although

this is not your grandpa's ACC and having a couple of Power 5 nonconference opponents helps.

We did have 2 P5 OOC oponents this year, but that 2nd one

When you lose should be nearly inconsequential

That's such an outdated perspective on things.

Helps that Oklahoma had 2 losses in September***

And if they had 1 loss (Ohio State)

Dec 6, 2016, 8:29 AM

would they have gotten in? If so they would've been bumping out Washington, not Clemson. We didn't just get in as a 1-loss team, we got in as the #2 overall seed and highest seeded 1-loss team.

Mulligan - Once Oklahoma lost 2 games in September

Dec 6, 2016, 11:04 AM

Once Oklahoma lost two games in September,
And CU had a two game lead in the Atlantic Division on October 1,
I knew we had a "mulligan" in our pocket.

I knew we could lose one game (other than ACC-CG) and still make the CFP.

With the "mulligan" in the pocket, Dabo could "build depth" and ensure star players are not playing too many snaps per game.

The Boston, NCST, FSU, Syracuse, and Pitt games were completely meaningless. One loss in any of these games had no bearing on our path to the natty.
