I think it's a good thing for our so called state rival to improve. Better USuC than some others. A smart move for him to save wear and tear on his body as won't be playing those extra post season games.

Murphy and Bresee in this class among others. He was never coming to Clemson. No matter how hard we tried. He seemed aloof at the cookout. His body language said it all.

I think its his personality. He seems to be a pretty shy kid. Probably why he wants to stay close to home and family. I think he's probably a really good kid. Just not ready to leave the nest. Even his announcement he seemed nervous people were watching him and wanted it to be over with.

If anything, he missed by never taking an official visit.

Lol. Don’t kid yourself. I guarantee you Dabo did everything he could to get him to clemson. He just didn’t want to be a tiger. We will be just fine.

You have to at least try on top in-state guys. No choice.

But when you’re getting the top guys in the nation, the need to go overboard for a home state guy decreases dramatically.
Burch is where he needs to be and so is Clemson.

We want a lot of players every year that go elsewhere.

I bet we get a higher % of our top targets than almost anybody else out there, however. I'm sure we wanted Burch, don't see how he was a miss when we were never really in it.

I was not the least bit upset, as I always saw him as another player in a five or six player rotation at DE. As we saw with XT, it takes a while to get your feet on the ground and develop into a great DE. Almost all of our best DEs, like some of our better LBs, did not really stand out until their junior or even senior year. We develop players, and in my opinion Burch needs a lot of development. I'm not convinced that he will get it at Scar. If that was really his choice, then that is where he needs to be.

He probably made a smart decision in picking the Gamecocks since he assumes he will be starting next year. However, we thought Pickens would too. He could have had the same opportunity at Georgia which has a much better core of players and badly needs an outside pass rush. As loyal Tiger fan, I wish him the best.

We don't know yet if it was a big mess. Time will tell.
IMO, Bresee and Murphy are better.

How has it worked out for players choosing the chickens? If he can't read the tea leaves . . .don't want him.

I disagree. If a kid doesn’t want to be at Clemson like Flowe didn’t want to be a Tiger that’s 100% fine. I want the guys who come to Clemson be 100% ALL IN. If a guy doesn’t chose Clemson it’s okay. Clemson was here before them and Clemson will be here after them. I’d be willing to bet Chump told him he’d start immediately. Things at u of 6c will continue like they have have since Chump has been there. They will lose kids, will transfer, and the fans will call for chumps firing. Good news is it won’t happen until Tanner gets canned too.

I’ve never seen the young man play and wish him the best except when / if he plays against Clemson. I just have not seen a ton of elite talent come out of Columbia area high schools, much less Hammond. He might be one, but call me skeptical
