No matter what someone says on an online message board, there is never a reason to tell someone to go kill themselves.

Seems like a really appropriate term, they literally kill

Jan 21, 2015, 12:29 AM

their own young.

"At least some coots have difficulty feeding a large family of hatchlings on the tiny shrimp and insects that they collect. So after about three days they start attacking their own chicks when they beg for food. After a short while, these attacks concentrate on the weaker chicks, who eventually give up begging and die. The coot may eventually raise only two or three out of nine hatchlings.[3] In this attacking behaviour, the parents are said to "tousle" their young. This can result in the death of the chick.[4]
A group of coots may be referred to as a covert[5] or cover.[6]"

At least some coots have difficulty feeding a large family of hatchlings on the tiny shrimp and insects that they collect.

They tend to have short, rounded wings and are weak fliers, though northern species nevertheless can cover long distances.

Yup, sums you up nicely.

One must also remember that the coot is the lowest form of bird life known to mankind. A fitting description.

So it fits then. An awkward flightless bird that is black in color with red eyes (hmm, interesting on the colors there), has difficulty feeding a large family (since the degree obtained simply by driving through Cola and having it thrown through the window), and attacks the weaker chicks (see fence-SUV pre-game for clarification)...thanks for the verification.
