He is kind of slow, so maybe he didn't think he could get there uncontested.

When he gets the ball in the post, he seems to always fade away instead of initiating contact

He has little touch around the basket and below average ability to move himself in position to shoot there. Looked awkward with that last move to the basket. Also has not developed a mid range game,
