Declined the penalty?

The refs f'd up. The penalty occurred on a running play for Clemson so the clock should have started on the ready for play. ND would have probably called a time out to stop the 25 second runoff but since thy didn't use any of their remaining TO's in regulation it probably didn't matter.

I may have put more pressure on ND but they didn't use but 1 timeout on their last regulation drive and still scored with 30 seconds to go.

Our 3rd string safety is the one that messed up on the last drive.

But I agree the flow of the game was completely destroyed by the officiating and the play review team. It was ridiculous.

I think the TOs become a mental thing...

If you have them, you play it differently...try 50 yd. bombs down the middle, etc.
If you don’t and the clock is running, you maybe have a different approach.

Bottom line is we either needed to be content with throwing the ball and living with that decision....or running it up the middle 3 times and forcing the TOs to be used.
