Should espn give the Penn St. hype a rest???

Sep 1, 2012, 6:53 AM

Seems odd to me that an institution of higher learning is PROVED to be complicit in a long-term multi-year coverup of known sexual crimes against minor children for the sake of their footbal program...and before they have even felt the results of any penalties, the largest sports media network in the world is giving them continuous television promotion. ESPN is shamelessly doing this university a favor when they don't deserve it and hhave done nothing sustained and substantial to earn it at this point.
Penn State's football program SHOULD have been barred from any television coverage at least for the first year. I'm already sick on my stomach from ESPN's preferential treatment of conspiring Child Sex Offenders.
This is DISGUSTING!!!

I just wish there was an option to their network...

They dominate the sports media and there really is no other competitive network.
I wish the Justice Department would pursue Anti-trust violations against them or threaten to break-up their monopoly like the Ma Bell thing...maybe that would shake some sense into their pea-sized brains.

anything, could be done legally. Although they have opened up numerous sporting venues to the public, as is always when an entity gains predominance, there is a price the public pays along with a certain amount of arrogance that entity assumes.

The positive thing about it is the attention it constantly brings to the issue of child abuse to the forefront. The people who had any involvement in it are in prison, dead, or unemployed with possible criminal charges coming. It will fade quickly anyway and they will sink into oblivion for several years to come. They are "done". It will be like SMU....
