Dognet...

So Tuesday on of my dogs decided to stop eating. After a couple of days I took her to the vet. Blood work, negative, next day xrays... there is some fabric clogging her intestines. Too late for my vet to do the surgery so have to go to emergency clinic. Exploratory surgery and the fabric starts in her stomach and is near the liver and some other organs. She doesnt feel comfortable to do it by her self so she gets a specialist... surgery is over and she is recovering... but she needs to have post surgery care for at least 3 days.
$3700 so far and at least $300/day for after care... :/
Rosa better be one of the best freakin dogs ever after this, do exactly what I say, lick peanut butter like a champ, save my family from a house fire, and kill an intruder.

He probably just lost control and dropped the peanut butter on the sheets.

My dog cost me $4000 a couple years ago, after surgery

to get a leg repaired and a plate put in.
Let's just say that if I knew the cost before electing to do the surgery, it would not have been a quick and easy decision as to whether to do it.

Yes, we kinda nickel and dimed our way up to surgery...

then the specialist had to be brought in. All said and done... we will be pushing 5k... If I would have known that, we would have probably been pup shopping soon.

We have 12 less children that could kill the dog than the Greenr household though.

The joke doesn't work, but our dog had cancer in her blood

so the splenectomy didn't really help and we were not going to give a dog Chemo. My brother's dog had lots of rope and fabric removed years ago from her intestines and she is like 14 and still going strong.

I remember when my current dog ate a grocery bag as a pup.

only a little bit made it out the b-hole, so it was up to me to don rubber gloves and pull the freaking thing out of his butt like the world's worst magic trick.

Because if it got hung up, you could rip the intestines. But I would have done the same.
