Bentley reclassifies and to play this year

Lot to ask of a kid mentally and physically to lose his senior year and come in and compete and play. Lots of difference between a 16/17 year old and 18/19 year old.

he is almost 19. He was held back in school***

Sounds like they are about to burn his redshirt. Fine by me.

Says more about the sad state of their QB position to me***

I turned 18 my FR september in Clemson. This dude was on

Posted: Apr 6, 2016 11:23 AM

pace to turn 20 his FR fall.
I find the whole thing confusing.
So he was held back at some point but did well enough to graduate early?
Maybe it was when he was young and he matured, but the whole thing seems weird to me.

I believe Seth on skipped a semester and football is a contact sport.

Let's add him to the list of SAVIORS to the USuC program...

Beer lost a year transferring to a private school

Posted: Apr 6, 2016 10:36 PM

They made him repeat coursework because of the previous school

Bentley's dad held him back so he wouldn't compete with

Posted: Apr 6, 2016 10:41 PM

his brother. Real piece of work, his dad. And the kid can't be very ambitious (or very smart) to go along with that.

A common trick by parents who plan ahead, to give their kid

an athletic advantage. And you can bet that's what Bobby Bentley did. Perfectly legal as long as it's done by eighth grade.

Just once (by his dad for football reasons)

Posted: Apr 6, 2016 10:44 PM

And then he "took high school classes in middle school," because he was should have been in high school already.

Bentley? Never heard of her***

BUT WHO IS THE NEXT QB SAVIOR

Posted: Apr 6, 2016 9:33 AM

Seems like all the coots had already moved past McIlwain to this kid, and if(read when) he falls on his face in Muschamp's "offense", who are they going to start hyping?

Hes gonna redshirt without question

Posted: Apr 6, 2016 9:38 AM

Already have mcilwain, wouldnt make sense otherwise

The kid is skipping his senior year completely.

Posted: Apr 6, 2016 9:51 AM

I don't think I would've ever dreamed of doing that, even if I could've graduated early.

HE ALREADY REDSHIRTED IN MIDDLE SCHOOL.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg

It was that or spend his senior year at a new high school

[1]
Posted: Apr 6, 2016 10:00 AM

With his family moving from Opelika to the Columbia area he would've had to go to a new school where he didn't know anybody. If faced with the decision to do that or go ahead and start college, I'd probably choose the latter.

He will be a much bigger disappointment than Willy Corn.

What if find funny is he didn't want to be separated from his family for the year. Did he ever think that after a couple of subpar years at USuC his dad will be leaving for a job somewhere else. Seeing Muskrat will be fired and his entire staff will be as well. I guess he could always transfer to the next school his dad coaches at. Go Tigers

That's wishful thinking. Muschamp a staff has multiple recruiter of the year winners. This staff will do well.

That's why their current class is mostly 3-stars

[1]
Posted: Apr 6, 2016 11:14 AM

who didn't get Clemson offers.

It's a weak year for recruiting in SC, so Muschamp is going to take everybody who has even the slightest chance to be a D1 player and say that he owns the state.

Then next year, which will be a very strong year for recruiting in the state, we'll see who the real owner is.

That's what NCS did

[1]

Sign all the 3 stars and put up plaques of every in state school they've visited inside the stadium.LO

As to the knucklhead above claiming what great recruiters the staff have been. They have been, at schools that normally recruit well. Schools like Auburn,UGA,TX and Florida recruit themselves,USuC is three star land ,with the only real stars being in state, low GPA or family ties.

That's your history, recruiters like Brad Scott,Lou Holtz or Steve Spurrier couldn't change that.

Re: Bentley reclassifies and to play this year

You also need a brand to sell. That they don't have. They were always able to hang their hats on the fact they brought in great coaches to die. Muschamp is seriously a chump even the players at Florida are glad he is gone. On the bright side, he can't make things anyworse.lol

Their latest QB Savior hasn't lit it up in Spring Ball. Getting Jake in,even if they RS him,has him ready for next season. After the Coots bomb next year, Jake could go somewhere else if he were still in HS.

Apparently they now have a top 25 recruiting class with this news.

And all they had to do was cut 8 guys

Posted: Apr 6, 2016 3:31 PM

Oversign, and have one guy reclassify.

SEC! SEC! SEC!

Think they still have to cut one more.

The last player leaving was making room for a JUCO.

Wonder how Mcelvine(?) the bb star, turned down MLB contract

to play QB for them feels about this?

Hope McIlwain is as overrated in football as he was in base

Ball. How in the #### could somebody peg a player that can't hit a breaking ball for high draft status? Those idiots don't realize the pressure they put on their own with unrealistic expectations.

They draft on potential.
