Send the Seminoles down the new Trail of Tears

Oct 14, 2013, 2:14 PM

from Clemson to Tallahasse.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hmm, usually down for a historical reference

Oct 14, 2013, 2:17 PM

but referencing the trail of tears is sort of like referencing the holocaust.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It was too good to be true.***

Bob?***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yea, sorry if I don't see the humor

Oct 14, 2013, 2:53 PM

In the suffering and death of an entire race because we needed the land to plant more cotton, but that's just me being pc I guess.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Death Valley was built on an old Indian Territory. Will

Oct 14, 2013, 3:21 PM

you be selling you FSU tix in protest?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, but I won't be celebrating it either

Oct 14, 2013, 3:26 PM

You seem to be missing the point.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That would make us the disgusting, evil bad guys.

Oct 14, 2013, 2:21 PM

I couldn't get behind something so obviously evil.

I'm the last person to say something politically correct, but if you know much about the trail of tears, its pretty d@mned horrible.

Re: That would make us the disgusting, evil bad guys.

Oct 14, 2013, 2:46 PM

maybe that's why the OP named it the "New" Trail of Tears...this one would be littered with sprained ankles, grass stains on the uniforms and jock straps not to mention scenes from previous Clemson victories along the way - sort of like the SOB signs now.
How's that plan?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I would rather call it something else like...

Oct 14, 2013, 2:52 PM

"The trail of dead Seminole fan body parts." Something more pleasant like that, so it doesn't conjure up my white guilt so much.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Forget white guilt

Oct 14, 2013, 2:53 PM

I just want to avoid looking having our fan base look like a bunch of ignorant racists on national television.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I didn't even consider that he was planning on making a sign

Oct 14, 2013, 2:55 PM

with that on there. He wasn't was he? That would be the worst PR for the school I could imagine. That would be as bad as Micah Rogers, or worse.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Would it surprise you?

Oct 14, 2013, 2:58 PM

It wouldn't surprise me. Maybe we could teach a quick history lesson this week. F.S.U. has plenty of things to make fun of other than their mascot, which is probably the best mascot in College Football...IMO.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Actually that would surprise me. Clemson fans are usually

Oct 14, 2013, 3:00 PM

pretty awesome in person. I've never seen a horribly embarrassing sign from Clemson folks before. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Oct 14, 2013, 3:02 PM

pensively rubs forehead.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I dont have white guilt

Oct 14, 2013, 3:04 PM [ in reply to I would rather call it something else like... ]

Im Irish to the bone, my family was treat like shat when they came over lol (to escape getting shat on by the British might I add). And even if my family did own slaves, or torture native Americans I wouldn't have white guilt. It happened 100-200 years ago. Time to move on America

2024 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm German...I don't have holocaust guilt

Oct 14, 2013, 3:06 PM

but I don't make light of the holocaust either. There is a difference between respecting what happened and being guilty about it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I'm German...I don't have holocaust guilt

Oct 14, 2013, 3:56 PM

yeah I don't make fun of any of those terrible events, but the question still stands; why should I, or anyone for that matter feel quilty?

2024 white level member flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

To sum up this thread

Oct 14, 2013, 3:28 PM

Redskins... ok
Trail of Tears... not ok

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Personally I don't like either***

Oct 14, 2013, 3:31 PM [ in reply to To sum up this thread ]

am I right

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sigh...no, you're not right

Oct 14, 2013, 3:41 PM

but it doesn't really matter

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This reminds me of my UGA Gameday sign idea...

Oct 14, 2013, 3:48 PM

So, after thinking about it, I was sure I had come up with the perfect gameday sign for the UGA game:

"Might as well change Tajh's name to Sherman..."
--------
"Because he's going to torch Georgia tonight!"

I thought it was great - but almost everyone I told kind of had the same reaction as this idea. I still think my sign was a winner, but then again, I've never really been known as the most PC guy...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Rassist thread!!!***
