Notes: ACC Says Challenge Should Have Been Overturned

The play that the Wolfpack coaching staff challenged in the third quarter of Saturday's game against Clemson was a fumble and should have been overturned according to the ACC. Full Story »

Agreed, we had already run the next play and the ball was

Did they say Maryland touchdown right before half should have not been a touchdown because ball hit the ground? My biggo butt!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

it should have never been reviewed in the first place

in the GT game that cost us a huge pass down the field in the final minutes of the game. And they never commented on the Ground Ball Maryland touchdown that was not overturned. Why comment now?

Never let a controversial call against dem Tigers take away credit from their opponent. Standard Swofford Procedure.

Was not overturned because none of the reviews can

determine:

#1 When/Where CJ's Knee first touches the ground.

#2 When the referee blows his whistle.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

We have a complaint too.

Nov 18, 2009, 4:11 PM

The next play had already been ran. If that happens you can not review the previous play. Yes it was a fumble, but they also cant review it. They screwed up twice.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I agree...ACC refs suck...what can I say!

So NCSU gets the fumble recovery on their 30 yd line?

Nov 18, 2009, 4:44 PM

I still don't believe this would have hurt the Tigers.

They were still playing good defense at that point.

You're not going to convince me that this would have changed the outcome of the game.

Nov 18, 2009, 4:48 PM

comment regarding a referee's call on ANYTHING! The HEAD official--GEEEEZZZZZ!! They're his dumb #### officials! If they are too STUPID to look at a monitor and figure it out then its Rhoads problem. He shouldn't have MORONS officiating games.

Of course it was a freaking fumble. EVERYBODY knew that except those idiots. What gets me is that after the number of times we have gotten screwed with no clarification or comment on bogus calls, they comment about this one??? Somebody needs to put a foot up Rhoads ####. Where was he when we got screwed on Austin's call?? I think he should throw himself off the tallest building available and take his double digit IQ officials with him. Ahhh now I feel better!

LOL. The challenge never should have occurred to begin

with. The officials can't just say there was "no play." Once that ball is snapped it's over.

Nov 18, 2009, 7:35 PM

against Maryland happened? The Georgia Tech game?! The ACC has NO credibility when it comes to officiating.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's good to be on the OTHER end of another blown call

Nov 18, 2009, 7:41 PM

can't believe it though. Thats usually Clemson getting the jonny come lately news that they blew another potential game changing call. We would've won anyway but...what can you do?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The moral of the story is....

Nov 18, 2009, 7:45 PM

Beat your opponent like a dog so a single call doesn't make any difference. And it wouldn't have made any difference in that game. They were totally outmanned.

Re: Notes: ACC Says Challenge Should Have Been Overturned

Nov 18, 2009, 11:36 PM

In addition to us having run a play already, if you watch the replay - while the ball was loose and not recovered, ref in the backround is pointing to the ground and blowing his whistle - play is dead - the refs blew it all the way around, it was a fumble, we had run a play, and the ref should not have blown his whistle...

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it but what about the bounce pass against Maryland that they still counted when it clearly hit the ground.....the ACC officials have not had a good year.
