Saw a Gamecock fan in an App State hoodie on Sunday

I had on my purple long sleeve T on with the orange Tiger Paw. He walked over and said, "You're the first Clemson fan I've seen today. Y'all killed us last night."

I asked, "Are you a USC fan? You've got on an App State sweatshirt?"

He said, "Yes, I'm walking around in shame today and couldn't wear my Gamecock stuff."

I had to take pity and said, "Well you know, these things go in cycles."

He said, "Not really. Other than a few years here and there, I'm used to you guys always beating us."

I said, "Well I'm not going to rub it in because we have to play you guys every year."

He said, "If y'all would play to your potential I don't think anyone could beat Clemson." And added, "And my wife went to Wake."

Have to give this guy credit. He wasn't your typical classless Gamecock fan. He is one that "gets it". And knows that Clemson IS THE University in this state. I guess there is hope for that fan base. Not all of them have an Alabama mouth with a Vandy trophy case. It was refreshing, as this has not been my experience with most Gamecock fans. Most make excuses or are delusional.
