Saving electricity with your dryer.

Apr 8, 2020, 8:27 AM

There is a commercial running here in Florida that says that you can cut your drying time by half if you put a dry towel in the dryer with your wet clothes every time. I haven't tried it, but I found it interesting.

Mom told me that years ago

I always donir. But I have no clue if it works or not. I’ve just been doing it cause Mom said so many moons back. Logic is sound on it.

steam out some wrinkles if stuff is dry.

Also, if you've got cookies that are going stale you can put in a fresh piece of bread and they won't get has hard. If your cookies are too soft, put in a dried out piece of bread.

Solar powered dryers cut electricity to ZERO ....

Technically its called a “clothes line”.

Had one for 15 + years in FL. Works about 90% to 95% of the time. Admittedly less effective on rainy days.

I hang dry my button down shirts still. That doesn't work well for levis and towels though. Makes them too crispy.

Got to love crispy towels smelling of sunshine! But...

maybe a little rough on sensitive skin.

It did take a little getting use to .... but actually took me way back to the 60’s and early ‘70’s when Mom dried everything outside because we didn’t have a clothes dryer.

Interesting how things trigger memories....
