Saturday Upsets that help the Tigers

Nov 15, 2013, 9:18 AM

I don't see too many chances to move up unless something unexpected happens, but here is what the latest odds are:

1) Alabama loses at Miss. St. (+24.5)
2) Florida St. loses at home vs Syracuse (+38.5)
3) Ohio St. loses at Illinois (+32.5)
4) Baylor loses at home vs Texas Tech (+26.5)
5) Stanford loses at USC (+3.5)
6) Oregon loses at home vs Utah (+26)
7) Auburn loses at home vs Georgia (+3.5)

* S. Carolina loses at home vs Florida (13.5)
** Georgia really needs to beat Auburn to help our SOS too

5 and 7 look to be about the only true possibilities.***

We're friends. You laugh, I laugh. You cry, I cry. You jump off a bridge, I get in my boat and save your retarded a$$.

Stanford is probably the least likely win since they are

Nov 15, 2013, 9:25 AM

playing a hot team on the road. We will have to see what UGA can muster on the road with Gurley back. They really haven't played well on the road this year.

Stanford is a fraud

Nov 15, 2013, 9:49 AM

Very overrated given their loss to Utah.

Yes they looked unbelievable against Oregon, but that ugly loss should count more than it apparently does.

I still disagree on that. The Utah loss was bad, but they

Nov 15, 2013, 10:56 AM

also have the best resume of wins in all of CFB. They deserve to be the highest ranked 1-loss team.

Now one thing i will say is that Stanford was lucky with the schedule this year and pretty much all of their tough games have been at home. Arizona St, Washington, UCLA, and Oregon were ALL home games. They did get a decent road win at Oregon St, but i think @USC will be a test for them.

Interesting that Auburn is only 3.5 pt. faves at home.

Nov 15, 2013, 9:30 AM

They're still not trusted.

I would assume that secretly we want/need USCeast needs to win to help our SOS as well.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

nope. go gators ! if we win out, we are in the bcs (not nc)

Nov 15, 2013, 10:07 AM

regardless. a usuc loss won't hurt us at all.

We need UGA to win the east and possibly the SEC championship. Every win by them helps our SOS and moves teams out of our way.

All we really need to do is win out, BUT if we somehow

Nov 15, 2013, 12:07 PM [ in reply to Re: Interesting that Auburn is only 3.5 pt. faves at home. ]

got into the top 4 of the BCS we would get an automatic bid. That's probably meaningless though because there's almost no way an 11-1 Clemson team would be passed over for an at-large berth.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So Cal and Georgia will win***

I would say that you want Fresno St. and N. Illinois losses

Nov 15, 2013, 9:57 AM

as well. One, or both, will grab a BCS spot if they don't lose.

Luckily the Orange has the first pick this year so even with those teams in the first pick won't be affected. It is the Sugar and Fiesta that will most likely end up wit UCF and a non AQ team.

UNI in the BCS got alot of grief , but they are real good

Nov 15, 2013, 11:23 AM

All I saw was the 4th QTR. on Wednesday night versus Ball State, but they were impressive. When things got close, they didn't panic, but instead, hit the accelerator.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The thing is they are essentially the same team as last year

Nov 15, 2013, 12:12 PM

and they were not competitive against FSU in the Orange Bowl. FSU's offense was playing like ### at the end of the season, and NIU still was never able to make it a game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I cannot imagine caring less about any of these games.....

Nov 15, 2013, 10:26 AM

other than SC/Fla and while I will definitely not be able to pull for the Chickens an SEC East championship might help us beat them, plus if we do it would be cool to have beaten them when they win their division. All that said GO GATORS.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

NIU and Fresno State

Nov 15, 2013, 11:26 AM

Are both non AQ. Only one non AQ team can get in a year unless both are playing in the national title game. Both can't get in.
