Sabin to internal punish Raekwon Davis' punches to Missou

Coach Nick Saban told reporters he talked with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey about the incident.
"We will have him do some things and I think it should affect his playing time in the future," Saban said.
Davis quickly posted an apology on his Twitter account after the game.
"I would like to apologize to Kevin Pendleton, the Missouri Tigers, their fans, Alabama Fans, and my teammates and coaches for my actions during tonight's game," Davis said. "I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and that's unacceptable. Again I'm sorry and it will never happen again."

But how in the world did he not get ejected from the game?
And after that didn't happen, how in the world is there not some official punishment from the conference?
That wasn't some "coulda been a slap" things, and nor was it two guys taking swings at each other. Dude flat out punched a player who was on the ground multiple times. If that's not considered worse than "targeting" then the rules are seriously messed up.

and the league commissioner should have told Saban, we don't care what you choose to do internally, that kind of conduct will not be tolerated and therefore, the conference is going to impose its own punishment.

The commissioner doesn’t tell Saban, Saban tells the commissioner. SEC HQ is 45 minutes from Tuscaloosa so Nictator probably called Sankey on the carpet to give him a heads up what Nick decided, just as a courtesy.

there was a lot of cheap shots on both sides . He should have asked " What would Christine Wilkins Do "...LOL
I think our guys are pro's at mind games....just ask O31O what mind games can do to you .

How long does it take to come to a decision of how to handle it ? Unless you plan on essentially, not doing anything and wait for it to blow over.
