Game Day Greetings from an Old Coot

Nov 26, 2016, 7:06 AM

We all should have seen this coming:

A Tiger blowout victory, 223-0, 64 -16 or 45-0. Clemson has played outstanding football for a long time now, they have tremendous tools and the capability to score with ease. Their D will be by far the best we’ve seen. Jake Bentley, he should still be in high school in case you haven’t heard ;), will be running for his ever chicken loving life all day.

A close game. Clemson has a trend over the past two seasons often playing down to their opponents. The Gamecocks have shown heart and hung in there this year, even when the chips were down. The Tigers have playoff aspirations and face much more pressure than my Coots. SC should throw the entire playbook at Dabo and Venables, we've got nothing to lose, except yet another game in this series.

An upset for the ages??? Well the computers and just about everybody gives us about a 4% chance. So you’re saying there IS A CHANCE!

Here’s to a good game, showcasing great sportsmanship with no injuries. I’m off to work so I can get home in time for Rivalry Saturday.

You forgot to include anything about the referee's family.

SEC refs tonight

But if a head ref can swing an entire game we should invest in one. :-D

Bentley is 19 years old

Not many 19 year olds in high school unless they can't get right

His daddy has held his hand the whole way

Bobby Bentley is a world class jerk. Have you ever met anyone that liked him?

I think the guy was kidding about Bently

Nov 26, 2016, 9:06 AM [ in reply to Bentley is 19 years old ]

lighten up Francis. I think the post was fair.

Still I think we need to turn it over at least 2 to 3 times or more then USC to make it a close game. As long as I have been apart of this series (about 35+ years so I'm old too), the better teams usually wins.

4% chance though, I don't pay attention to all that BS. There is more than a 4% chance we turn it over 5 times today.

Sheesh.. I hope that offensive genius Muschamp doesn't open up the entire playbook on us.
Did they ever add a second page to that thing or is it still just page 1?

Looking back on it now, it looks like that 4% chance you were given was WAAAAAAAY too much.

Once the Tigers successfully ran down the Hill

Nov 27, 2016, 5:45 PM

without all falling down our 4% was over. :-D
