At the end of a long and hard day, I like to unwind and relax. Sometimes, I need a good, long laugh and I will venture onto FGF to read their lunacy. The central theme this week has been if SCAR had remained in the ACC, their current team would have a 10-1 or 11-0 record by the end of this year since Marshall was cancelled as the ACC is so down this year. So, it got me to commence to ponder reality. What if a really good high school football team such as IMG in Bradenton were magically substituted for SCAR’s current group of criminals and misfits. What would substitute SCAR's record be with their schedule? I think we can all agree that IMG would beat Coastal and UT Chattanooga. They would also lose to Clemson, UGA, UK and TAMU and UF. That would leave Vandy, Missouri, Old Miss and a hapless Tennessee among which I feel they would split. That would give IMG a 4-7 record with SCAR’s 2018 schedule. That is only slightly worse than the 5-6 record they will hopefully earn this year. Perhaps substituting IMG would even get them their coveted Birmingham bowl bid and a respectable second place finish.
