SC College Football Hall of Fame

Jan 21, 2013, 1:47 PM

Reported in Greenville Business Magazine 1/13 issue, 7 Clemson players/coaches to be inducted at the SC College All Star Bowl on 3/23/13: McFadden, Howard, Ford, Kinard, Cunningham, Fuller and Davis. 2 for SoCar: Rogers and Sharpe.

How's that for history, tradition and legacy? Future looks pretty good as well (Spiller, Boyd, Bowers and Hopkins before long I expect).

You keep forgetting SOS is a Gator not a Gamecock. He loves to pat himself of the back but historically he wants to be remembered as a Gator not associated with one of the worst teams in college football.

Hmm, Spurrier possibly but based on his career body of work, not necessarily what he's done at SoCar (one division championship in 8 seasons?) thus far. No doubt the best 8 year stretch by a Gamecock coach in over 100 years based on W/L's and bowl record in particular, even though teams play more regular season games and way more bowl opportunities so tough comparison on that basis. But is he more deserving than Fisher Deberry and what he did at USAFA. Sharp and Rogers for sure, but Lattimore still has to prove himself in the pros. What might have been in his college career doesn't really count at this point.

Question?

Jan 21, 2013, 3:22 PM

Does the player have to from SC or just play for Clemson, South Carolina, Wofford, Furman, etc.?

Re: Question?

Have to be either a player or coach at a SC college/university OR a SC native who played outside the state. For instance, Freddie Solomon from Sumter and George Webst both played college ball outside of SC but both are SC natives

Stephen Davis should be in then!***
