Every man needs several of those styling mofo's.

Running: Saucony Freedom ISO, just cross 800 miles

Apr 4, 2019, 10:59 AM

on the first pair so I retired them and started others. The ISO IIs are out so the ISOs are discontinued. I bought a pair near Christmas and just saved them for a few months.

Hiking: I've been looking at some Lems Hiking Shoes. Haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I bought their Boulder Boots in brown leather and really like them.

Hiking, depends on weather/conditions

Apr 4, 2019, 11:00 AM

I picked up some waterproof Lowa Renegades for the 'serious' hikes & camping, and I love them.
https://www.lowaboots.com/mens/hiking/renegade-gtx-mid-sepia-sepia

I JUST picked up some Keen 'work' boots (basically hikers w/ steel toes) 2 weeks ago, and while I've only worn them on a job site, they're supes comfortable...I might try them on a hike and see how it goes
https://www.amazon.com/KEEN-Utility-Detroit-Steel-Slate/dp/B004J3LM60/ref=asc_df_B004J3LM60/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312857905168&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=915082983941287015&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010604&hvtargid=pla-685093254712&psc=1

(MFer, I paid 30% more in store....)

Lighter hikes (say, with kids...) or trail runs (which hasn't happened in 4 years) The Salomon Xa Pro 3D has been my go-to for past decade

Salomon X Ultra 3 are my favorite.

I wear an old pair of Sperry Top-siders to hike

Apr 4, 2019, 1:53 PM

down the hill to the chicken coop every afternoon. The ones with the classic white flat soles, because I inevitably step in chicken poop and those are much easier to clean off than boots with a bunch of crevices and crannies. Plus they still have enough grip that I don't slip when I've got a 50lb bag of feed slung over my shoulder, even on wet leaves.

Running shoes? Nah, no real need to run. Nothing's usually chasing me.

In used these when I hiked the Appalachian Trail

Apr 4, 2019, 6:16 PM

Wore out the heel pretty quick. Thankfully I took a backup pair.
