To me the most surprising thing is that they somehow made a 16 minute long YouTube highlight video of a guy who started 5 games and had 1 touchdown.

After sitting through that 16 minute highlight video, I can say the guy is talented. His stats aren't going to catch your eye, but he can sling it well and there were a ton of dropped passes. He also runs well under pressure, so he's going to be tough for our young defense to defend.

From what i saw of White, from HS, the Camp and Elite 11 circuit egc, he is remarkably unremarkable, but he is consistent. He dosn't do anything great, but he CAN do everything pretty well. He can run a little, he has decent arm strength, he has ok touch. Mechanics are decent. Footwork, not bad. Seeing the trend? He's that guy that if you graded him on a scale of 1-100 I would put at like 62. He did win the Elite 11 Contest DW4 and Grier were at, two much better talents, but a lot of that is your team mate draw.

I'm not saying he's going to be a world-beater, but he has talent. I think that, combined with our young defense, could lead to trouble if we don't play well.

I think that a 1 TD/4 INT ratio over 5 games screams average to in over his head stayis , but that is just a cursory view of the actual stats . I'm sure he had a great completion ratio and drove them up and down the field , setting up their kicker nicely .
I just don't think Auburn will have much help from their offense , even if our defense is below recent standards . The other part of it obviously is that our offense should be superb ...and they have a great d-line but have suffered some attrition in the back 7 ...so that could be a big problem for Steele and Malzahn .
I am in the group of Tiger fans that think this game is going to demonstrate that Clemson has joined the elites , and Auburn is just in that 2nd tier .
We shall see in about 8 days , and I hope I am right .

I have to agree with tmac. He's a very good, if not great QB. His footwork is OK, his arm strength is good, his delivery is quick and he runs OK. He's no Deshaun Watson, but neither is anyone else not named Deshaun Watson.
His biggest problem is the lack of exhibited talent from the WRs. They don't get good separation and many times don't hold onto the ball. It appeared to me that his second problem was pass protection from the OGs. The OTs look fine, but the middle of the line looked suspect to me. They may all be better this year.
Nothing much there to judge the run game on. All-in-all, they have some talent. If we get after them, we're better and should win. If we get sloppy, they have enough juice to beat us. I suspect we'll be just fine.

In 2015, Deshaun Watson threw for 4,104 yards and 35 touchdowns, despite rarely ever playing a full game against opposition.
In 2015, Auburn's Johnson and White COMBINED for just 2,220 yards passing, with 11 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on the season.
