Coaching: direct quotes

Nov 2, 2005, 3:33 PM

He knows better and has been coached better

The fact of the matter is the players did not execute the way they have been coached

The coaches had a solid game plan for the game; one that would have resulted in a win had the players made plays.

i don't care how much you hate/like Tommy B....it was not his fault, or spence, or koenning, or anyone else fault that we lost the tech game. we played like absolute horse manuer, yet still were excellent chance to win with 3 minutes remaining. that holding call killed us. imo, coaching kept us in a game where we squandered opportunity after opportunity.

Great analysis

Nov 2, 2005, 5:56 PM

the penalty called on the touchdown play was only having 10 men on the field, whether or not there was 7 on the line, i don't know. if we can score with 10 guys on the field, why can't we score with 11? Great analysis, as i agree with everything and for the first time, a football writer actually spelled the word "jell" right.

You don't have to have 11 men on the field on either side of the ball on any play. however, you DO have to have 7 men on the line of scrimmage on offense on every snap of the ball. That's why the penalty was called.

Owch!!!! That hurt, but how true, how true. I just hope this week the team learns from their mistakes and plays not only with their hearts but also their heads. We ARE a top quality team. We proved that against A&M and Miami. The season may be coming to a close, but we have three more games to prove it again. Go get'em Tigers!!!

Roy Martin your special teams comments are foolish. I don't know why you think it is necessary to critize Jad Dean. He has kicked more field goals than any kicker in the nation. He continues to be one of the only reasons our team even hangs in games. I mean what more do you want? You're like a freaking spoiled kid on Christmas. Our team has a lot of areas that need to be improved...but I think the last thing we need to worry about is the place kicking.
