I really hope one of our guys breaks out this year, but I'm ready for the next Ronald Williams. IMO he was the best back we may have ever had. I'm drooling for that back that has both breakaway speed and the ability to run through tackles.

I was always a Ronald Williams fan. Think Terry Allen may have been our best all around back ever , CJ the most naturally talented anf fastest for certain. James Davis was the toughest imo.

yep Priester was the toughest in the last 20 years. We had nothing else on offense and he still ran for a ton of yards.

I was a young kid when he played but I remember a play where Clemson turned the ball over when they were about to score inside the 10 yd line. The opposing player ran it back about 70-80 yards and Ronald chased him down. I just remember my dad pointing out his hustle on the play and not giving up.

year? Not sure if I am remembering it. Seems like I threw something at the TV that time. Must have been an away game if I wasn't there. Maybe 1990?

You have no idea, he and several guys from the 96 football team would go to practice then come pick up hay for us for 6 to 8 hours in 100 degree heat then go back to high school and lift for 2 hrs during the summer.
He scored a TD every way possible one night I think he had a run pass KO return Punt return int return and a fumble return for a TD. I asked him one day once you run on the field do you ever come off and he responded, "Half time." He may have played in the band also. LOL
I promise there was not a more appreciative hard working kid than Ronald. I think he is coaching at Daniel and they have a good one.
I am sure Deshaun has those character traits also. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Yes, yes..my friend. Finally someone is bringing up one of the best lone- lost forgotten backs.
Williams was definitely one of the top 7 or 8 backs that every played here.
Just maybe, Gallman might be along that line?!

I seem to remember a game against duke that Williams took off on a long run and a duke defender ran him down and actually took the ball from him and ran the other way...does anyone remember that?

not that fast. I remember Ronald had four to five yards on a UGA defensive back with no one between the end zone. The UGA db ran him down.

I'm hoping that Fleming develops into a Kevin Mack.
Mack gets very little credit but two Pro Bowls and over 5,000 yards rushing in the NFL - 9 years in the NFL.
