Most memorable Clemson jersey numbers for you ...

Sep 14, 2013, 8:13 AM

One's that quickly stand out to me without thinking about it too much:

4 - Steve Fuller

22 - Perry Tuttle

1 - Iggy and Randy Anderson for some reason

42 - Tracy Johnson

10 - Tajh

13 - Rodney Williams

Without researching, I remember Stacy Driver's cut off jersey swinging back and forth as he was tearing up yardage. Can't remember his jersey number. 22 ??? 7 ????

I close my eyes and see players on the field - these are the numbers that pop out at me first.

You ?

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

Driver was 21, just like Terry Allen. The "best" number in CU history to me is 43. Terry Kinard, Keith Adams and Leroy Hill all wore it. Kinard is in the college football hall of fame and Keith and Leroy were both ACC defensive players of the year. Some others:

01 Dantzler, James Davis, A. Edwards
02 D. McDaniel, Watkins
12 Andy Headen, T. Mack
15 J. Butler, O'Neal, Roulac,
20 Woolford, Dawkins
44 Kirkland, Lester Brown, Buddy Gore
66 McFadden, Dunham, W. Perry
91 MD Perry, McGlockton
93 G. Adams, Bowers, Ed McDaniel
99 J. Bryant, J. Riggs, R. Bodine

Ahhhhh yeah - The Sheriff wearing #1, too .... Good one !!!

#13 for Rodney, of course. #44 for Levon. The #21 I remember most is Terry Allen, with McFadden #22 in the same backfield.
More recently #2, #6, #28...next year we will all be remembering #10 as well. I really dislike off weeks...GO TIGERS!!

I’m not saying they are the best ever, but the numbers that seemed to be the most exciting for me were 44, 66 and 28.

I'll always remember number 44 swinging his arms and pumping the crowd up during a big D stand or after a great play. I love his heart.

I'll always remember a big 300 lb number 66 chasing down quarterbacks in the backfield for a sack. Incredible speed for a guy that size.

I'll always remember standing up and signaling a TD with my arms as soon as number 28 got around the corner, no matter how much of the D was between him and the goal. It seemed like he was shot out of a gun.

I suppose I could think of more… Boyd, Woolford, Brown, Fuller, R. Williams, Allen, Dantzler… bunch of others... all part of the pantheon of beloved Tigers, and all part of my Clemson memories.
