As a kid growing up we would stop there on our way to the game every Saturday. I sure do miss that chicken. Anyone else eat there?

Yes, that was our Go-To stop for tailgate chicken also! Much better than the KFC across the street of course. They were always prepared for the game day crowd it seemed too.

That was our go to spot. Would even mix a Bloody Mary in the parking lot on occasion.

We went there when I was a kid back in the 80's until

my Dad came down with a bad case of food poisoning that he believed came from there. It turned him against the place and he never went back.

I never got sick, so my memories of the place--vague though they may be--are all positive.

It's pronounced "L Heff A" and it means "The Boss".

Do you remember that there used to be a Hardee’s and a SKY City in the parking lot attached to Rodey’s and the bank behind it?

I only remember that Hardee’s being filthy every time we went in there.

As a kid, occasionally dad and I would make the trip over there to pick up some chicken. I remembered liking it, but it’s been a long time

Yer dang right! May have been the best fried gamecock east of the Mississippi. We always stopped there for their chicken, we brought our own pimento cheese and potato salad. Sad when it burned, the BI-LO chicken was a poor substitute!

Remember when it was in the white building near the river? Pretty sure it was Roddy's but don't remember a sign.

I ran over a dog in their parking lot back in 1981. Really ruined my appetite.

I’ve known Roddy Ledford for many years. He is a fine Christian man and an avid Tiger. He definitely bleeds orange.
