Robbie Caldwell talks OL

Robbie Caldwell says he isn't worried about the OL in the least. He said, "Guys like Hyatt and Fruhmorgen want to hurt you and knock you in the mud. They are mean."

He also said the last true freshman he started on the OL was Brian Stamper at Vandy, and he turned out pretty good. Said to expect big things from Taylor Hearn.

No way he feels comfortable right now. But hopefully our guys get confidence from his quotes and will be ready to surprise.

Brooks doesnt pull punches. You gotta know these guys are being pushed to get better and better to provide protection for DW and block for these RBs. The talent is there, the experience will come. Going against Lawson, Reader, Watkins, Dodd, Pagano, etc will provide good experience initially.

I believe him . We have recruited well on the OL the last 2 cycles , and I think that will show up earlier than expected . OL is a tough transition from that HS level to Clemson ...but we have a good OL coach and our system has brought in the right type of players .
We will be fine. 2 warm ups for these young guys to get their feet set .

I am also a believer in the reverse theory that having great skill players reduces the pressure and eases the transition on new OL starters . We have GREAT skill behind that line . That means less blitz packages and just fewer opportunity for disaster . If we were in the state that the Coots are in with their skill set ...i would be horrified .
