Billy O'dell... I haven't heard that name in a long time. I remember years ago my dad used to talk about watching him pitch for the Liberty Mill team in the old textile leagues.

Denny Walling had a nice career. For a short period of time, Billy Koch was pretty good.

That could have been a factor, but I think he lost his ability to throw strikes.

One that I forgot, Joe Landrum was also Clemson’s first baseball all-American if I remember correctly.

Astros from 1996-2000. Had a 12-13 year career in bigs. Not a power hitter, but he seemed to get better with age.

In the most recent past I heard the then, manager of the San Francisco Giants when they went on that World Series run, who also was Khalil s manager in San Diego, say that he really tried to talk Khalil into coming back to MLB. He really though highly of Khalil.

John Curtis had a long career, but he had the misfortune of pitching for bad teams.

Matt Lecroy. Classic DH body and could hit it a mile. Currently the manager of the Harrisburg Senators (double AA) . Former bullpen coach of Washington Nationals. Should have been named clemson head coach when Leggett was fired.

You're acting like Lecroy wanted it. He hasn't dealt with college baseball since be played. Recruiting, juggling scholarships, etc are alot different than what he gets to deal with in the pros. Besides when the spot was open he was in MLB. I wouldn't leave that either.

Striper Fan, you and the other advocates have me convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jimmy Key is the Greatest all-time baseball player (the GOAT) at Clemson University. A great pitcher and very good hitter. A superb Major League career. Thanks for all inputs and go Tigers!
