Rewatching the playoff games...again

and I think there is something to what John Simpson was saying about Notre Dame being the tougher of the two opponents.
The Irish had MUCH better production in the trenches than the Tide did. Their o-line was holding their own fairly consistently and their d-line was actually getting through on a regular basis.
Bama, with the exception of Quinnen Williams, was getting pushed around on both sides of the ball all night.
From the perspective of an o-lineman (John Simpson) this makes sense.
