Rewatching the VT game....

Tim Settle played a heck of a game. I know we were in on him early, but I seem to remember rumors that he was looking for $. Anybody have insight on his recruitment?

My recall thinks there was some needed adds in his pre-admission criteria.
He was a good friend in HS of Chad Smith, during the recruiting process.

From what I remember we backed off because of grades

but he got into Va Tech and seems to be doing well, good for him. We ended up pretty ok too.

He had to go to prep school, I believe.

As I recall, he did have to do some extra work to qualify the summer prior to enrollment (and his red-shirt year) and supposedly worked his butt off to get in. That seems to be his MO since and has become a fan favorite. No shenanigans. Probably many schools do, but we seem to miss on our allotted share of guys who fail to qualify.
