The masks weren't recommended early due to fear of shortages (aka nurses having to resort to wearing trash bags for protection, which happened...).
Extra cleaning of surfaces was an obvious precaution worth taking until conclusive studies could be performed.
The fact that scientists are willing to admit when they're wrong and change their recommendations are what make them worth listening to. People unwilling to admit when they're wrong, on the other hand, tend to be rather poor sources of valuable information (cough cough djt cough)

That's not good when looking to have a FB season, but I really did feel that this was going to happen, and it's only going to get worse with our guys and with FB nation!!! The only good thing is that these guys are young and strong, and will recover quick!!! The coaches are the ones that we should have our most concerns about, and I pray they will recover well also!!!

If medical and health experts aren't to be followed on medical and health issues , then none of us are experts in our fields and this is all just a birdsnest anyway.
I'd like to see some profession-denier come take this barge from a dock in Philly and go 250 miles to Norfolk and secure it at another dock ...based on what they've seen on a news outlet about it .
Check thyself , at some point you have to believe what a legitimate source is telling us about the subject they've been educated to expound on .

Fauci said in two different interviews in mid January that the virus would not seriously impact the US. One of them was 4 days before the Chinese travel ban. So was he right or wrong?

When he said those things, he qualified then with "at this time" and/or "the $hit can change fast". Have never know Faucci to speak in absolutes. not should he most of the time
