Reno to Santa Clara Driving

Jan 1, 2019, 2:21 PM

I think this was already mentioned.

If you are flying into Reno, you need to ensure your rental vehicle as 4-while drive. I-80 goes over the Donner Pass. They are projecting snow on the pass from Saturday through Tuesday. They keep the pass well plowed, but sometimes it closes.

Rental companies do not provide tire chains for rentals. You must have chains or 4-wheel drive to go over the pass.

LOL.....draw straws before starting over the pass just in case you get stuck.

What is the logic of flying to Reno?

Jan 1, 2019, 3:48 PM

I don't get it - it is a 4.5 hour drive on a really, really good day.

It is called making your money available work to get to the game when you do not have a lot of extra especially with two kids enrolled at Clemson. Went to the Cotton Bowl and now that national championship. Air fair into Reno was under $500.
