Remember the bad old TB days: 4-star QBs & WRs w/ 2-star OL

Mar 15, 2019, 5:07 PM

All that talent away from the line didn't matter because the QB was running for his life, usually on 3rd and long.

So stoked to finally be reeling in more top level OL. Hyatt was a start but still just an aberration for our typical OL recruiting.

This is how programs are built to last...along the lines.

We've wised up. It all begins and ends on the LOS. Our recruiting of linemen is superior, and this will bear increasing fruit in the future. Our Ol line currently is huge, and has a bad attitude---as regards our opponents. Ask dear Alabama about that. We'll only be better this season---look at our recruits!

How did we not realize OL was so crucial then? That's like a basketball team not realizing a center is important.

Anyone remember during the Bowden years when we started a left tackle (from Spartanburg I think) that didn't even start for his high school team?

Well the coaches have no real plan and just waddle thru learning as they go.
