Regarding a post below using Twitter as recruiting intel.

Apr 24, 2019, 8:21 AM

I teach high school seniors and I hear their conversations about Twitter and other social media. Here are my take-aways.

When kids post something, their goals in order of importance are:
1. To be funny.
2. To attract attention to themselves.
3. To leave any lurking adults confused.
4. To prompt as many responses as possible.
5. To convey actual information.

High School kids these days are media savvy. They live in a world of ambiguity. They have no intention of being penned down by anything they say, even if in writing. Notice where conveying actual information ranks. If the self-aggrandizement world of social media is where you are going for solid intel, don't be surprised when you are wrong more often than when you are right.

I'm pretty sure that I would be wrong more than right

If you're making a post regarding another post then why not just reply to that post?
