While it came quickly it was not unexpected to me. He is genuinely a decent man and that was reflected in his teams at UGA having high rates of suspensions. He did not cover up things, did not allow 2nd to 10th chances for drug use. Miami has a culture problem, has for decades and he chose to walk instead of beating his head on the sidewalk to change it.
He may not be the best football coach, some may say the game passed him by and there may be truth to it. Thing is there needs to be more decent guys running programs and his retiring is a bit sad on that side of things. He is set for life and maybe mentoring kids through his faith based functions are a far more satisfying way to spend his life.
We are blessed to have Dabo here, a great HC and man of integrity. They are rare and I hope Clemson Nation understands just how lucky we are today.
