In my 32 school, five-day run last week through the Carolinas one trend was noticeably dominant.

Clemson is getting whoever they want in the Carolinas.

Of the 40+ prospects I interviewed Clemson either lead or were in the lead group for 25.

That collection of talent included some prospects, albeit few, that are heading elsewhere and a few not actively pursued very hard by Clemson.

For this cycle, in 2016, that group includes five-star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, four-star offensive lineman John Simpson and four-star wide receiver Diondre Overton. Both Lawrence and Simpson are U.S. Army All-Americans.

They are also in the lead group for four-star defensive back Troy Pride Jr., who is being evaluated for a late offer. The Tigers are also in the lead group for three-star defensive back Myles Dorn.

For 2017, Clemson continues to outright lead for four-star wide receiver Shi Smith, four-star wide receiver J.T. Cauthen, defensive end Chrishawn Wilson and three-star quarterback Hendon Hooker.

They are also in the lead group for three-star offensive tackle Eric Douglas, three-star offensive tackle Travaris Moore, four-star linebacker Justin Foster, three-star tight end Drake Deiuliis, three-star running back Javon Leake, four-star athlete OrTre Smith and dual-threat quarterback Kingsley Ifedi.

For 2018, Clemson remains the leader for four-star linebacker Jake Venables, four-star dual-threat quarterback Dakereon Joyner and four-star linebacker Dax Hollifield.

They are also in the lead group for four-star defensive end Xavier Thomas, five-star running back Zamir White, four-star defensive tackle Josh Belk and four-star athlete Derion Kendrick.

In essence, from the gathered intel, per 247Sports Composite Rankings, Clemson either leads for is in the lead group for:

in South Carolina
2016: Three of the top six prospects
2017: The top four prospects
2018: The top five prospects

in North Carolina
2016: Four of the top 12 prospects
2017: Six of the top 15 prospects
2018: Two of the top three prospects

Clemson gives instate territory to all nine of it's assistants. They divvy up North Carolina to four assistants and tag-team that state with many others, at times, considering half of the bordering state instate priority territory.

The strategy along with effort and winning on the field has produced big-time dividends in recruiting this cycle in the Carolinas and it appears for years ahead.

Don't copy & paste articles from other sites. If you want to share it here go ahead and link and maybe even give a summary, but remember, that's those folks' livelihood.
