Welcome QB Roberts

He had an offer from Dartmouth, which means he's smart, . .

taking a cue from my cold war era hero, Charlie Wilson, you can teach them to throw and hand off, but you can't teach them to be smart and understand defenses; be interesting to see if Morris can develop this guy - g&b

It should but

Jan 18, 2011, 4:19 PM

I've worked with 2 people from there. One was one of the brighter folks I've ever met. The other was a complete dimwit who only thought himself bright.

G&B - good point about the teaching aspect which we will soon see play out. T.Boyd is our QB next year and perhaps beyond, and Morris will initially succeed or not with him. But now he will have 3 young QBs in the background to shape and mold for his system.

Obviously none of us know which of those might step up and be a world-beater in this new offense. Certainly QBs and BSU and TCU have shown that the big programs do not always land or develop the best QBs.

There is no guarantee Boyd will start next year

While there is never any guarantee, safe bet is Boyd starting in the fall cause its his 3rd spring.

And that he's a project. But tdp will love the gpa boost

Morris has his 3rd and 4th string QB's hold cards up to....

Jan 18, 2011, 4:46 PM

signal in the plays. We need smart players to hold up the right ones!!!!!!!

Interesting that we took another "Pro-Style" QB

Jan 18, 2011, 5:05 PM

With Morris as the new OC, I thought we might focus on the dual-threat QBs in the future since with Tulsa this past season the QB (G.J. Kinne) was the team's leading rusher. I don't believe any of the 3 QBs we've taken are known as runners.

He's may as well be considered "dual threat" he ran for over 700 yds his senior season.
