Real talk regarding the chicken game.

I know it's cool on TNET to say how awful they are, yada, yada...
I think their defense is pretty stingy up front similar to Syracuse and A&M. For whatever reason, when playing at home, the defense only gives up around 115 rushing yds per game. Bama only 76 yards rushing.
Overall numbers tell you that this is the 2nd best total defense that we've faced this year. Now, some of that, is because they have played some pretty pathetic offenses. But, thru 11 games, that certainly means a little.
I see this game playing out where we still get our 45 points, but the only difference is, we don't go over the 40 point mark until the 4th quarter. I think it's a 35-3 or 38-7 type of game heading in to the 4th quarter. I'm not convinced this is a "name your score" type of game. 45-7 or maybe 52-10 if all hell breaks loose in the 4th.
I think the real question is, can SCar score more than 10 points?

they still had spirit. They were not sure they would win, but had something to play for. They have nothing now. They may say its Clemson and thats ALL they need to play for, but that kind of emotion only lasts until you get hit in the mouth a couple of times.
The only thing they have to hope for is a slow starting Clemson offense. If we struggle or stub our toes in the first couple of drives, it may stay tight. The fans down there are LOOKING for a reason to leave. We need to give them one at the end of the first quarter.
If we lay it to them, they will roll over like a dead fish at 21-0

Not because of the coots but because of what is at stake.
That said, Dabo has had our boys ready and our D is already saying they want to atone for last year. Helsinki looked all deer in the headlights last game I saw them play (App State). I think we will be OK.
BUT. APM is getting skeert of VT. APM wants UVA to win, first because they haven't won since 2003 and second because they'd be an easier out than VT. And APM lives in VT land.
And don't give us the "we have to hope we play a ranked VT team" crap, because if we lose we're out of the CFP period. So the easiest path is best path.
