ESPN writer ranks Clemson WRs No. 2 in ACC

opinion.

I don't like him, his mom, his dog. I don't care jacksh!t about what this jumped-up guy thinks. A David Hale Joint? Does Spike Lee have a babymama we didn't know (or care) about?

Please keep crap like this off Tigernet. We are better than that.

WRU???

May 26, 2020, 11:57 AM

The claim of Clemson being WRU might be questioned.

NFL snaps played by WRs from 2006 - 2019:

LSU - 43.7k
Ohio State - 41.7k
Miami (FL) - 40.7k
Florida - 29.8k
Georgia - 25.9k
Clemson - 24.8k

LSU forgot the Forward Pass for a decade but still produced WR talent. '19 finally saw them use it. Hearing the '20 LSU WR corps will be even better.

What are the numbers in the last 5 years tho? Just wondering. I'm sure y'all are still up there high.

Going back to 06 is laughable.

You might as well go back another few years.

Still reaching I see... 2006, what a joke.

You could have the best class ever in 20, but no one to throwing to them, ??

I do agree that our WR corp was disappointing last year

May 26, 2020, 3:25 PM

Outside of Tee of course who was fantastic.

Ross was not even close to being the same player he was in the 2nd half of 2018. Lots of drops, YPC fell from 21.7 to 13.1, and his yards per route run plummeted as well though i don't have that stat on hand.

Amari was obviously coming off the injury but didn't really flash outside of the Syracuse game and one big catch on the last drive against OSU.

Ngata and Ladson combined for just 26 catches. I guess they were a little too green, but they weren't really able to step up last year when Ross and/or Tee went down. We realllly need one or both of them to make a leap this year.

And that was really about it. Overton caught 22 balls for 350 yards but he's gone too. Etienne was our 3rd leading receiver with 432 yards.

There are a lot of things that could happen to remedy the situation though. Ross could rebound and be the 2018 version rather than the 2019 version - although the neck surgery news certainly doesn't bode well for that. Ngata and or Ladson could break out. The return of Galloway could add another dimension to the passing game. Etienne could potentially become used even more in the passing game. And so on.

But it is a bit of a question mark right now which is odd for a team that's so loading with talent at those positions.

It's not just WRs, it's WRs and TEs

May 26, 2020, 11:13 PM

And let's be honest: our TE play brings us down in these rankings. Ever since Leggett left, I doubt we've sniffed anything better than middle of the pack in ACC tight end rankings. EASILY our worst non-special teams position group 2017, no argument.

WRs? I get the Higgins leaving argument, but they're not gonna skip a beat. Best in the ACC by a mile. The only question is who breaks out? Ladson, Ngata, or both?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I would agree that our second string WRs are the 2nd

May 27, 2020, 3:34 PM

in the ACC.
