Only met Lineman Jimmy Wells little brother 'Joel Wells' once but what a Gentleman.

I was in the AD’s lobby to see Bobby Robinson back around 1986-7 and he & friend were seated there too and he got up to introduce himself & shook my hand.

A great looking guy and but not as big as you’d expect.

His older bigger brother Jimmy was a good lineman under Coach Howard and was an Architect in Greenville.

Got to meet Jimmy’s Son (from Charleston I believe) at 2017 UL game (actually at Churchill Downs near winner’s Circle) and learned his Dad had passed.

Good Clemson Family!

Joel Wells was one of my favorite players as a running back when I was ten or eleven years old. I really enjoyed going to the ball games with my Father and Mother. I would sit on the "GG" or hill with the other kids and have a good time. Clemson games were always family events. Also, one of my daughter-in-law's family member was married to Joel Wells around the time of his graduation.

I saw Joel Wells play, and he was a great RB at Clemson.

A few months ago, I watched a replay of an NFL Championship Game, and he was a starting RB and kick returner for the NY Giants.

One of two backs I always associated with Clemson football growing up in the 50's--Joel wells and Rudy Hays.
