The reason you don't hear Dabo's name for other jobs

Dec 11, 2012, 5:23 PM

...is because of his love for this school. This is not a joke post, or a troll post, or anything like that. Just listen to the man and you will know he is all in for Clemson.

IMO, most savvy ADs know there is probably only one job that will lure him from here.

Dabo loves Clemson. Please, if you're a TIGER, let's not drag him down just because we don't see his name on Twitter or freaking football scoop dot com.

Thanks.

I think agents ultimately leak names for guys who want

Dec 11, 2012, 5:26 PM

there names to be out there. Chad Morris, Venables, Muschamp in the past, Charlie Strong, Bud Foster, etc. Guys names you heard every year because they want their names out there.

HC's deal with job offers through their high-paid agents

Dec 11, 2012, 5:27 PM

anyhow.....how many inquiries would we have been privy to unless Dabo really wanted to discuss a position opening with another AD

Dabo is a strong leader...

Dec 11, 2012, 5:27 PM

He is not an Xs and Os guy.

If Dabo is able to keep a high winning percentage for a few more years, after more staff changes, he will be mentioned for a lot of jobs.

ADs want to know he's not a Gene Chizik.

Dec 11, 2012, 5:35 PM

Dabo is a strong leader..........until game time, when playing the big boys.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

you don't hear his name b/c nobody wants him as their HC....

Dec 11, 2012, 5:28 PM

recruiting coordinator? maybe?

not head coach

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think that's false, honestly. I'd agree that no school up

Dec 11, 2012, 5:31 PM

to Clemson's perceived standards may want him, but I think tons of schools would be interested.

Please, be my guest.......name one of the "tons of schools"?

...and this is based on what? Your opinion? I don't see any facts here...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's full of it

Dec 11, 2012, 5:34 PM

Plenty of schools (think Auburn and TN) could benefit GREATLY from a coach like Dabo. Can you imagine Dabo recruiting at a place like, say, Florida or Texas? He would get top-notch coordinators and would assemble a sick amount of talent.

Makes me shudder to think about it. We are lucky to have him! (And him us.)

Re: He's full of it

Dec 11, 2012, 8:03 PM

BULL####!!! If he's so well respected, why aren't there schools throwing millions at him to come their way? We all really know the answer, some of us just won't admit it.

Hate to tell you but most of the college world outside of Clemson feels that way; you guys just don't see it, or want to admit it.

Wrong Troll face. I was on the West Coast last month and College Football fans out there love him and our program! He's all in with CU and people know it!
Now go away!

I remember Spurriers name was always out there in his early years at SC but he kept saying he did not want it out there. History shows he did not want it out there!

Re: The reason you don't hear Dabo's name for other jobs

Dec 11, 2012, 7:08 PM

Come on now...are you serious? Can you really not see why his name isn't out there on someone's list; anyone's list?? I can see his love for Clemson being a reason to turn down a job but he's not even being sought out by anyone. That should tell you something. Take your orange glasses off and then maybe you'll see him how the rest of the college football world sees him.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's because the other schools

Dec 11, 2012, 7:10 PM

Are no where near the caliber of Clemson. Dabo wouldn't leave just to take two steps back in his illustrious career.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't doubt that Dabo loves Clemson...

Dec 11, 2012, 7:11 PM

But it's just idiotic to think that's the reason why our OC is a hot coaching commodity and our HC is not. It's fantasy.

Re: I don't doubt that Dabo loves Clemson...

Dec 11, 2012, 7:14 PM

ok mr great clemson fan, which jobs that are better than clemson are ones dabo should be interested in. clemson is easily a top 15 job in the usa.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's not a matter of Dabo showing interest...

Dec 11, 2012, 7:19 PM

you idiot. No other schools are courting our HEAD COACH, who has HEAD COACHING EXPERIENCE. They are coming after our Offensive Coordinator, whose only head coaching experience is at a HIGH SCHOOL. Doesn't that seem a little strange, even to someone with their head as far up their #### as you??

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I am glad we are not having to go thru this with a HC***

Re: Re: He's full of it

Dec 11, 2012, 8:05 PM

Of course we all know the answer, Dabo is over qualified for all of those schools. Why would he want to leave here? This place has greatness. All in baby! Wooo

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Thanks for this great post

Dec 11, 2012, 8:08 PM

Too many get caught up in the negatives...it brings them down and they try to bring those around them down as well.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This is the ultimate in cognitive dissonance.***

Always watching big brother.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Unfortunately, that's not the true.

Dec 12, 2012, 9:35 AM

If other schools thought highly of him, they would at least try to lure him away. It wouldn't be as hard as you think---he's ranks 39th in salary for head coaches, and 7th in the ACC.

The reason that other schools aren't coming to try and poach Swinney is because he's a CEO-style coach without the X's and O's coaching credentials. That's also why Coach Swinney shares so much of his salary with assistants---probably the highest paid group in the nation at $4.2 million.

In the end, I think that's why everyone is so freaked out about the prospect of losing Chad Morris. He's the best X's and O's coach on staff, with a great ability to develop players. These are the skills that Coach Swinney lacks on his own, and will take a great hire to replace.
