Just refreshed my e-mail for the 77th time today

To see if I get an agreement on my last counter-offer with Company X.

Current employer knows I have an offer and could potentially leave. Upper Mgmt will sometimes make an offer to employee before leaving to convince employee to stay. But I don't even think upper mgmt is working today. And I got like 2 hours. If Company X does not agree with my counter offer. Then I officially have no offer to leave and nothing to prove to current employer than I am potentially leaving.

Funny, huh?

I'll say this. Anyone with an offer that is presented to management will be gone within the year anyways. That's why our company doesn't do counters. They just let you go.

But maybe they think what you are saying.

ESPECIALLY since we have already lost all of our experienced fry-fryers. No one has fried as many fries as I have. I know everyone is replaceable, but they aren't going to meet deadlines if I leave 'em.

Company X has been poaching some of our employees. Got a farewell e-mail this morning from a young lady headed over there.

This wasn't actually me going out and searching. This was Company X contacting me first. Everyone knows they is poaching.

Similar to the reason I don't like to bring on folks from a different business unit when the run out of funding and our work is technical but not too similar. There's a very big learning curve, chances are the employee transferring will continue looking for something he wants to do and likely leaves before we get much if any benefit from him/her.

were going to leave but got the offer rescinded (which we all know is what happened), they will still treat you like the Young King you are. There is NO WAY they hold that against you in the future promotions and layoffs.
