Surely not the best forum for death penalty debates but until a murderer is convicted, then immediately walked out to a big oak tree outside the courthouse and subjected to a public hanging, there is no deterrent. An injection 20 years down the road serves little, if any, purpose.

There is a day of justice coming for this person, where he will be judged with no lawyers to change the sentence. He will pay a price that was not intended for any human to suffer but this sentence comes by his choice.

Great work by police! Horrific crime and tragedy but at least he won’t be free to do it again. Heart is heavy for this family. What a dreadful piece of news for them. May the Good Lord give them peace beyond all understanding.

When I heard the "suspect" was driving an Impala, I told my wife, "That pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the suspect, and it likely narrows the search to about 7% of the population of SC. Police shouldn't waste time looking at the other 93%." GOD … I hate stereotyping people, but it proves to be true most of the time. Sorry!

Sad and heartbreaking. There was one almost like this in Ohio where they guy took the girl and her car. He was on parole and wearing an ankle monitor which no one bothers to monitor as he committed several crimes before her murder and assault. Sadly the predator on got life instead of what he should have gotten.
