LOL, As if those North Carolina Journalism School Graduates

know anything about any of the teams outside of Duke and North Carolina. I imagine that they've heard that Syracuse might have some talent but why bother.

Yawn...Vote of NO CONFIDENCE for Brownell...

And this is just my opinion*

If you can't score, you can't win (consistently).
Its all about put the ball in the basket, night in
and night out.
Oh sure, they'll be some nights you'll win a 52/50
type game. And you need to be able to play those from
time to time. But all in all, you have to be able to
score. (from recent past)~> your team scoring leaders
can't be where they have been, the 11 and 12 ppg (IMO).

Yes, I understand that..."well what if everyone on
your team is in dbl figures?" (makes a difference)

But I think you need at least 2 guys on your team that
can consistently give you @ 15+ ppg. I would "like" to
think it would be McDaniels and Roper. But so far, I'm in
wait-n-see mode; For now....sorry for typos :)

well thank goodness for the addition of Cuse and Pitt

Oct 30, 2013, 11:12 AM

13th out of 12 teams would have been embarassing

Our b ball team is going to be much improved. We aren't going to be storming into the ranks but we are moving into the right direction. No way we finish in the bottom 2.

13th is not the bottom two. 15 teams in the ACC this year in

I agree!

Oct 30, 2013, 8:08 PM [ in reply to gheeeeyy ]

We will see 4-5 guys on the floor this season that didn't play last year. Some of them should definitely help at the ACC level. Coupled with natural progression from of at least some of the returnees gives me hope for significant improvement from our team. I won't be surprised if we finish in the top ten in our league. I believe in Brad Brownell!

Without a real experienced presence on the inside....

Oct 30, 2013, 11:21 AM

this team will live and die based on how well it shoots from the perimeter.

With four freshmen, five sophomores and five juniors, this team also lacks the element of senior leadership.

but all people did was gripe about the seniors last year so at least we dont hear that junk again

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-74tiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I know . . . thank Tom we are strong from the perimeter.

I'm excited to see what Brownell does lineup wise...

Oct 30, 2013, 11:28 AM [ in reply to Without a real experienced presence on the inside.... ]

We are going to be pretty good n the perimeter, and may be one of the best perimeter defensive teams in the ACC.

I'll be curious ot see if he changes his style any and we get out and run and pressure more.

I don't think we have any choice but to run and pressure***

believe it or not, he's always wanted to run... but I'll be

curious as to whether or not we'll see more full ct pressure...

I'll know we'll pressure the ball full ct., but I anxious to see if we mix it up with some zone trap and run and jump stuff.

We have the athletes for it

Granted, no Seniors, but our Juniors have Senior experience .... they have been playing hard minutes since they were "wittle babies", unlike some teams where you basically sit for the first two years ... Clemson will finish no lower then 4th this year ... Remember, you heard this first on TigerNet !

Re: Basketball Update: ESPN predicts Clemson Bball #13 in ACC

Oct 30, 2013, 11:47 AM

vault us to the top of the ACC in basketball.

I'm old enough to remember when Littlejohn was built - it was said back in the late 60s that all we needed was to move out of Fike into a "real" basketball coliseum in order to be competitive in the ACC. Yeah, that sure paid off didn't it?

Who thinks throwing more dollars at it now will do much better? A shiny new coliseum isn't magically going to cause the top recruits to flock to Clemson instead of UNC, Duke, Syracuse, etc.

Re: Basketball Update: ESPN predicts Clemson Bball #13 in ACC

I think the difference now is that Brad Brownell is building a program to go along with the facilities. He seems to be operating with a long term approach. His recruiting has picked up substantially these last two years and looks to be improving. IMO if we just leave him alone he will get us back to the best of the Ellis, Barnes, and OP years consistently. Rising above that is the real challenge but it is not impossible. Now is not the time to be thinking that it can't be done under this coaching staff.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgmilitary_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm looking forward to BBall this year

Oct 30, 2013, 11:47 AM

I think KJ and Roper are going to be pretty good, and I love Hot Rod Hall as a PG.

Interested to see what Blossomgame's got too

Prove em wrong boys!

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Might be a long year.

College of Charleston might be the best team in the state.

I find it interesting that Miami is ranked #14 while they were legitimate title contenders last year.

Re: Might be a long year.

Oct 31, 2013, 12:00 AM

Miami graduated 85% of their scoring and 91% of their rebounding

The Canes graduated all 5 starters.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think the BBall team will surprise some folks this year

Oct 30, 2013, 7:26 PM

I got a feeling

Re: Basketball Update: ESPN predicts Clemson Bball #13 in ACC

I look fo the basketball team to exceed expectations. Big CU, I believe the juniors will provide the "senior" leadership. The addition of Blossomgame and Coleman to those who played last year, as well as the new guys gives us some options we didn't have. Anxious to see the guys Friday night.
