Since Secretariat I've rooted against all Triple Crowns. No one is worthy. Except Rica Ridge. Those guys ran them all and took all comers.

American Pharaoh was worthy.
Quite a few in that time won the first 2 legs but fell in the Belmont

Justify has only raced this year. Looks like he has the stamina from what I saw today in those conditions. 4-0

for some reason these triple crown winners seem to come in clusters historically. 4 triple crown winners in the 40s and then a 25 year gap from 1948-1973, then 3 in the 70s and then a 37 year gap from 1978 to 2015. Maybe we will get a couple more in the next few years

I had Mendelssohn to win, for sentimental reasons, but he was in the top 3-5, or so, in the odds to win. Of course he finished dead last, 20th out of a field of 20. "Beatlebaum!"
